WCOE is excited to announce that one of our Corporate Alliance partners, Linda Graves, VP of Diversity and Community Affairs at Gilbane recently received the Golden Champion Award for Leadership in Minority Business Development in Wisconsin Construction Industry. Since 2016, NAMC-WI has sponsored the 31st annual DBE Workshop and Secretary's Golden Shovel Award in coordination with WisDOT, City of Madison, Dane County, and Milwaukee Country. Members of the NAMC board presented seven Golden Champion awards to deserving industry professionals and government officials.
WCOE's 2017 Women Build America Annual Leadership Conference was held in Washington, D.C. on April 2–4, 2017. The three-day Conference started with High Tea Celebration on Sunday afternoon followed by dine-arounds, Monday speakers and panelists, Monday night's Awards Gala, and culminated with the Legislative Day and lunch at the Willard Hotel.

The Department of Transportation Office of Business and Economic Opportunity has announced the representatives to the 2017 Caltrans Statewide Small Business Council. Women Construction Owners & Executives, USA National will be represented by WCOE member Rebecca Llewellyn and WCOE California Chapter will be represented by WCOE Member Lee Cunningham.
Will Kempton, Executive Director for Transportation CA was a recent speaker at the WCOE CA Chapter Leadership Summit held in San Francisco in October. He discussed the history of transportation funding, repair acts and the challenges. His remarks regarding transportation issues in California are presented below.
On October 13th Swinerton Builders hosted WCOE-CA Chapter's Fall 2016 First Annual Leadership Summit in its San Francisco office. In addition to Swinerton Builders, the conference was also sponsored by the CA Department of General Services. This one day event was focused on promoting leadership and the development of management skills for women in the construction industry.
June 2016 (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) At its 47th Annual National Convention, Hall of Fame Gala, the National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) awarded Lisa Colon Heron, Esq. with the Ray Dones Service Award. The Ray Down Service Award, named in honor of NAMC’s founder, recognizes a NAMC member who has provided significant contributions to NAMC.
Linda Graves, VP of Diversity and Community Affairs at Gilbane, recently received the prestigious Harriet Tubman Leadership Award from the National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC).
As a ten-year veteran with Gilbane, Graves serves in a National leadership role positioning Gilbane's diversity and inclusion efforts as a comprehensive strategy to achieve business and workforce commitments.
Brenda RadmacherWCOE congratulates Brenda Radmacher, Partner at Wood, Smith, Henning & Berman LLP in Glendale CA and WCOE CA Chapter President, on being named the 2016 Outside Counsel of the Year. This is a prestigious award given each year to one lawyer nationally by CLM at its annual conference.
Brenda was one of only three lawyers nominated nationwide, which alone is a huge honor given the fact that CLM is one of the largest organizations of defense lawyers in the nation.
