Lee Cunningham is CEO of BT Metal Sales & Fabrication. Following in her father’s footsteps, Cunningham recently expanded her family’s 60 year-old business, BT Metal Sales & Fabrication, to supply high-quality metal supply and fabrication services to the building and transportation industries. Today, her family’s company is growing as a superior metal fabrication, metalwork, tank and metal sales, ironwork, iron fencing, and welding supplier in the United States. Cunningham’s leadership and the success of BT Metal Sales & Fabrication, continue to help the small business community by creating hundreds of jobs. The special blend of commitment to family and community, progress in transportation and the promotion of small businesses is the same set of priorities that Cunningham brings to the national platform on behalf of women in construction every day.
Through her continuing work in public advocacy and her commitment to small businesses, Cunningham is helping to reshape the landscape of the American small business. She plays an instrumental role in the nation’s movement toward infrastructure improvement, sitting on numerous boards, including the Department of General Services Small Business Council, the Arbitration Board for Silicon Valley, various hospital foundations, YMCA, San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce and Rotary International.
A Graduate of Santa Clara University and active proponent of women in construction nationwide, Cunningham has helped make WCOE one of the fastest growing professional organizations in the country. Whether it is support for new programs, increasing small business size standards, encouraging multi-national corporations to team with WCOE members, encouraging small business lending policies or advocating change of government regulations, Cunningham’s primary focus as President of WCOE is to help woman-owned businesses – and women executives – succeed in the male-dominated construction marketplace.
