Ruth Bley established Bleyco, Inc. in 1988 and has spent the subsequent years performing work throughout the Bay Area and Northern California. Offices are located in Castro Valley, San Francisco, and Benicia with a shop/yard location in Castro Valley.
Notable projects completed by Bleyco include numerous BART projects: the design build Millbrae BART/Caltrain Station, Parking Structure, Parking Lot and modifying the signal systems in the adjacent intersections, BART 24/580 viaduct, BART 580/Dublin grade track way extension, and Castro Valley BART lighting. Other projects include various projects for the now complete San Francisco International Airport including the installation of the 150-foot tall high mast lights at the entrance to the terminal, the Fort Baker/Barry tunnel rehabilitation, Mission Bay infrastructure in San Francisco, Oakland’s High & Park Street Bridges rehabilitation, and the Benicia Bridge retrofit. Numerous lighting projects include Kelly Park in Daly City, Stanford football stadium, Stanford’s baseball, Stanford’s Encina tennis courts, and many other lighting projects. Other completed projects include installing instrumentation and upgrading the electrical service in the Lafayette Filter Plant and the San Pablo Pumping Station both for East Bay Municipal Utility District. Bleyco also performed work for the California Maritime Academy installing electrical service and lighting in a new pier and the associated medium voltage work on shore. Other notable projects include the Bay Bridge Retrofit, the 4th Street Bridge rehabilitation (San Francisco), the new Benicia Bridge, the new Bay Bridge SAS structure, and the Bay Lights Art project.
Bleyco has performed on a variety of projects with the common thread being that most of our work contains a high degree of difficulty. We have successfully completed all projects within budget and schedule and maintain a reputation that has allowed us to be repeatedly asked to perform for clients such as Stanford University.
